Women organizing women:
special report

Do you love your work but hate your job? Or does that describe someone you know? Do you have ideas -- big or small -- about how to make things better? The AFL-CIO and its community affiliate, Working America, are reaching out to all women workers to get input on what it’s like to be a working woman in America this election year.
If you're a union organizer, this could be a nice way to give the women you're talking to a chance to sound off and also show that the union movement cares. Together, what they think about their jobs and what they want can make a difference. Moreover, for those who are still uneasy about complaining or criticizing their employers at work, this is a discreet way to start taking a stand.
Please urge the women you know to take a moment to complete the 2008 Ask a Working Woman survey. And while your'e at it, fill it out yourself. The AFL-CIO will pass the results on to politicians and women’s rights and labor organizations, who will use them to advocate for women across the country over the next two years.
Click here now to take the survey. It is short and easy. Or click here to invite someone else to take the survey -- could be any working woman you know. Make sure all their voices are heard!
